ABOUT

Hi there! My name is Ericka and I’m the one behind the camera.

Why do I love documentary photography so much? Because the images mean something to me. My “aha” moment came when I looked at my walls and saw memories we had made together as a family. I saw camping memories, memories of the moment a first tooth was lost, the memory of holding my foster son for the first time…

And, I want to bless others with those same living memories. The ones that are unique to you and the important people in your life. Don’t get me wrong. I value images where everyone is looking at the camera and smiling, but I don’t want to stop there. I want to start there and then spend time documenting all the “real-life” moments as well.

I’ve documented families, events, seniors, weddings and homes and this approach truly captures the memories you will cherish forever. I think Sacha said it better than I could:

“Ericka seamlessly inserts herself into your day-to-day in such a way that real life happens before her camera lens. The images she captures record life and shared experience. They are the kind of memories that fill you with feeling when you look back on them.”

I try my best to show up and make myself just a new friend hanging out with you. In order to make that feel a little less awkward, I’m going to share a few fun facts about myself. First, I’m blessed to be both a wife and a mother. I love to read but rarely finish a whole book. I’m notoriously type-A and am known for using the trash can as my filing cabinet. I despise grocery shopping and never make a list before I go. I’m a fairly recent convert to “glamping” and I try to spend as much time in the outdoors as possible.

I’m looking forward to getting to know you better and being behind the camera allows me do that. Will you take a minute to check out the rest of my website and consider making the commitment for a documentary photo session?
